早上7时才允许进入水坝跑步运动，跑没两下太阳就升起，太热了！睽违近7年，大山脚孟光水坝今日重开，开放时间是从早上7时至傍晚7时，有民众认为，开放时间太迟了，建议提早6时许开放。

Old News and all about MengKuang Dam

Mengkuang Dam (Malay: Empangan Mengkuang, Tasik Mengkuang) is a dam located less than 28 km to the north-east of Butterworth in Penang, Malaysia. It is the only dam situated in Seberang Perai (Penang Mainland) and the second dam built in Penang after Ayer Itam dam. It was officially opened by the former governor, Dr. Tun Awang bin Hassan in 1985. It has the water catchment area of 3.9sq km and a gross storage capacity of 23.6 billion litres makes it the largest dam in Penang, almost 10 times the capacity of the Air Itam Dam. Mengkuang Dam will be closed to the public from August 1, 2011, until July 31, 2016, for enlargement and renovation. The US$200 million enlargement includes increasing the height of the dam by 11 m (36 ft) and its length 1.7 km (1.1 mi) to the west. A new intake and spillway will also be added.

不过，槟州交通与基本设施事务行政议员再里尔强调，孟光水坝在重新迎接来访公众后，只开放水坝的2.7公里范围，因为公共工程局仍在进行山坡修复工程。

他周四在州议会口头询问环节，回应武吉淡汶州议员吴俊益有关孟光水坝目前地位，还有水坝泵站是否可以操作时表示，孟光水坝将于10月26日举行管理权交接仪式，环境与水务部部长拿督斯里端依布拉欣将前来参与。只是，他说，州政府已同意接回水坝管理权。之前，州政府是因水坝的麦苏龙泵站损坏、无法操作，所以迟迟未肯接收管理权。

We have planned to visit MENGKUANG DAM after last visit almost 7 years ago!!!

Today - 14 DEC 2020......we visited there on MONDAY Morning!

Both of us taking leave to avoid CROWDED visitors on Saturday/ Sunday.

孟光水坝 - Mengkuang Dam Car Park Entrance...after parked our car, we went to queue.....to check in with My Sejahtera.

Start from 7am and ended with 7pm.

Important - the new re-opening MENGKUANG DAM have moved their car park to front entrance. There is a new toilet set up there (you need to ensure you have released all excess water there before you start your jogging trip...since there is NO TOILET on the damp jogging trek, they have closed the old toilet near the jogging path which most of us familiar).
