We have not really plan for it. Just take a last minutes decision to pay a visit to Hat Yai (Hatyai).
Hat Yai (หาดใหญ่; also Had Yai, Hadyai) is the fourth largest city in Thailand and is located on the Southern Gulf Coast. It is an extremely popular tourist spot for Malaysians and Singaporeans on holiday and weekends. As a word of caution, you will see a lot of touristy stuff here. As the transit city to the rest of Thailand, this city is a must stop. Even if you want to go off the beaten path, this city has hidden gems thet shouldn't be missed. Note that prices are high here (however not as high as on Thailand‘s popular islands). After all, this city is built on tourism anyway.
We just drove our car heading to Bukit Kayu Hitam Free Duty Mall (we passed Malaysia Custom and show our passport on the car via the checking point counter)...we can parked our car here and grab a taxi to Hadyai. The overnight parking fees is RM15 (per day). There is a big space of car park....safe to park your car here indeed.
After parking, we just walked to the front door (taxi gather point / Thailand car driver...). We just survey how much to bring us from Bukit Kayu Hitam to Hadyai. They asked for 800 Baht. I counter offered 500 Baht and we agreed with 700 Baht in the end of negotiation. Coincidently i met a couple with a baby boy (I guess around 4 to 5 years old) ,,,and they are coming out from car park and heading to locate for a taxi. I offered him to make a car pool...and we have agreed to take the car (Honda Oddysey). We paid 300 Baht and they will paid 400 Baht.
After take the ride on the car (Honda Oddysey) for 5 min, we need to step down from the car and walked into Thailand Sadao Immigration to stamp on our passport. Luckily we just spend ~1 hour here even there was a long queue. After the stamping we just walked out the Sadao Immigration Office and our driver just wait us outside from the side door.
.............then we started our tour to Hadyai (Had Yai).......

This is the BIGGEST Shopping Mall in Hatyai City. We walked 20 mins from our hotel to this local famous mall.

We saw a famous Thai Food Cuisine franchised restaurant here as well...Black Canyon is quite famous in Penang.
We walked and tried to look for a unique restaurant for our first meal here....
We stopped at S&P Restaurant, we ordered some food for quick lunch.
We like this S&P Thai Restaurant.
We love this cranberry apple drink and coffee "oh" drink...

Siam Fried Rice with Salmon Fish (The sauce is very sour...but I like it much)
This is Sweet and Sour soup with seabass....but the taste content some "bitter spicy" which I am not really appreciate it. This is a real SPICY SOUP!
We see Thailand also selebrate Mid Autumn Festival with the MOONCAKE!
We spend >RM120 in this restaurant (Meal + 2 pcs of mooncake for FIL).
I also take a quick photo in front of the signboard of Central Festival Hatyai Hall.
After the main course - we took ice cream in COLD STONE CREAMERY in the Central Festival.
Good Taste.
We see many teddy bears around the Central Festival Mall.
WHO is that? Thai King! Thai People would take their king like Chinese Angkong. High Tier of respect to their King.
There are so many food stalls outside the mall as well...

The food price here is very reasonable. You can enjoy good Thai Food with very nice view here.
We took "TUT TUT" from hotel to ALIVE. It cost us 100 Baht....

This is ALIVE.......a jungle feel of restaurant.
You can spent the whole evening to snap photo in this restaurant. You can climb up to First Floor...second floor to search the place you like to hang around...haaa!
